Bowls NSW provides a free service to its club membership that can provide exemplary support and assistance to those responsible for running the club. The Club Advisory Committee receives applications to seek support and assistance by member clubs that have identified things are getting harder. ‘Club Land’ is not an easy endeavour by any stretch of the imagination, therefore it is important that clubs seek assistance and advice before it is too late. Our committee always emphasise – it is not a sign of weakness or bad management to seek assistance – in fact it is a great step in protecting the members within the club by keeping their interests at heart.
A Club Advisory Visit = No Cost to the Club.
There is no obligation for a club requesting a visit from the Club Advisory Committee to reimburse any expenses incurred by a Committee Representative. The service is here to serve the members and we ask that clubs experiencing or bordering on hardship seek out the support of the Club Advisory Committee by contacting the Bowls NSW office.
The support we received from Bob, and the follow up opportunities to delve a little deeper into the issues, were of the greatest assistance.
We didn't have the expertise in terms of managing some of the risks that had arisen. We had to put our hands up and say that we needed help! The Club Advisory was an honest yet supportive process, confidential at all times and gave us the expertise we required to move in a positive direction. 18 months on and we are trading positively.
