The Inaugural NSW Over 40s Pairs State Finals will come to a conclusion tomorrow at Club Maitland City with the field whittled down to the Quarter-Finalists.
Bowls NSW introduced the Over 40s State Pairs Championship this year, recognising a great need in the sport for a competition and promotion aimed at this age bracket.
The competition has been very well received, with players excited about the 18 end, 3 bowls per player format and the chance to compete against their peers.
Club Maitland City and Lorn Park hosted the first stage of the State Finals where the 32 competing teams played off in 8 sections.
The Quarter Finals will feature:
Chris Edmonds & Shannon Gittoes (Nelson Bay) v Simon Byrnes & Martin Byrnes (Mudgee)
Aaron Appleby & Nathan Dawson (Kurri Kurri) v Daniel Mathieson & Michael Cronin (East Cessnock)
Wayne Beard & Dave Neilsen (Bateau Bay) Thomas Furey & Garry Carberry (Parkes)
Jeremy Roach & Mick Clarke (Merrylands) v Daniel Hooker & Paul Cousins (Club Maitland City)
