One round of sectional play remains for players to stake their claim for a berth in the 2019 Champion of Club Champions Singles at South Tamworth Bowling Club.
Section 1 will see previous Champion of Champions Singles and State Singles winners Jono Davis (Dubbo Railway) and Mat Pietersen (St Johns Park) face off in an effective quarter-final after they both recorded two wins today.
Yesterday’s Pairs Champion Peter Taylor (Alstonville) is the only undefeated player in Section 2. Taylor will come up against James Cook (Halekulani) who has a win and a loss. Cook will need to win by at least 10 shots to move ahead of Taylor. Should Cook win it will also open the door for Moruya’s Chris Pollock. If Cook wins, Pollock can sneak ahead in the section with a solid win over Heath Lewis (Merrylands)
David Govan (Valentine) heads Section 3 as the only undefeated player. He will face Adam Jeffery (Grandviews) in Round 3. Jeffery will need to win by at least 9 shots to move ahead of Govan. Nathan Dawson (Kurri Kurri) is relying on a Jeffery victory, but will need to record a huge margin over David Richardson (Tuncurry Beach).
Corey Wedlock (Warilla) is the only double winner in Section 4. Wedlock faces Tim Crampton (Tumut) in Round 3. Crampton can move ahead of the Australian Squad member with a victory by 6 more shots. Paul Faorlin is relying on Crampton beating Wedlock, but will need to beat local hero Nick Golledge (West Tamworth) to be in contention.
Tune into our live streams tomorrow to watch all the action.
