The 2019 NSW State Fours Champions are Engadine while the State Senior Fours Championship has been claimed by Ettalong and the State President’s Reserve Fours was won by Cootamundra Ex-Services.
Craig Donaldson, Mason Lewis, Harley McDonald and David Ferguson claimed the State Fours in a gripping final, beating Greg Mallard, James Reynolds, Michael Wilks and Jay Breust of Merimbula 21-18.
The final came down the final bowls of the final end, Ferguson converting a match drawing lie to his favour and with the third last bowl of the match to swing the advantage to the Cougars.
Merimbula beat St Johns park and Engadine accounted for Wallacia in the semi-finals.
State Senior Fours final saw the host club, Ettalong, quartet Garry Frost, Anthony Leslie, Allan Lewin & Phillip Westcott overcome a spirited effort from Ray Fitzalan, John Archer, John Finlay & Phil Gray (Bathurst City) to claim the winners trophy.
Bathurst City had a 1 shot win over Belrose and Ettalong beat Blacktown Workers in the semi-finals.
In the State President’s Reserve Fours Final Jason Jones, Geoff Manwaring, Terry Smith & Rocky Ford (Cootamundra Exies) steadily built their lead throughout the match to defeated Robert Irving, David Johnson, Col Mudie & Gary McPhee (Parkes B&SC) 19-10.
Cootamundra beat Warilla and Parkes beat Umina Beach in the semi-finals.
