The Bowls NSW State Grade 1 Pennant Competition is the pinnacle of club based, sides competition.
One of the greatest achievements a club and its members can accomplish is becoming the NSW State Grade 1 Champions.
The State Match Committee (SMC) is seeking Expressions of Interest from Clubs desiring to participate in 2020 State Grade 1 Pennants.
There were 6 Grade 1 Conferences in 2019, with 16 State Finals positions available from those conferences.
The geographical position of each Conference and the exact number of qualifiers from each Conference will be determined by SMC after confirmation of participating Clubs.
Once the 16 State Finalists are determined, SMC will conduct a live, open draw to allocate sectional play for the finals.
It is anticipated that the 2020 Pennant season will commence in late February/early March and may vary according to number of sides entered in each respective conference.
The 2020 State Grade 1 Pennant Conferences (including any playoff matches) will be scheduled to be completed prior to City/Country weekend in mid-late May.
Matches may be scheduled as double-header weekends as well as the playing of matches outside of the traditional 1pm start on a Saturday (this may include Friday evenings, Saturday afternoon/evenings & Sunday).
Please send your Club’s Expression of Interest to participate in 2020 Bowls NSW State Grade 1 Pennants to David Ellis, Head of Sport & Operations – Bowls NSW, via email: [email protected] no later than 5pm Friday 15 November 2019.
It is projected that the sides participating in 2020 Bowls NSW State Grade 1 Pennant Competition will be advised by 30 November 2019.
