The 2018 Bowls NSW Club Challenge State Champions for 2018 have been crowned after an action- packed State Finals weekend at Warilla Bowls & Recreation Club.
The results from the finals in each division were:
Men Gold: Engadine def Raymond Terrace 2-1
Women Gold: Cabramatta def Maitland City 2-1
Women Pink: Nelson Bay def Austral 2-1
Men Silver: Cabra Vale Diggers def Wiseman Park Wollongong City 3-0
Men Blue: Moorefield def St Georges Basin 2-1
Mixed Gold: Taren Point def Port City 2-1
Mixed Bronze: Oak Flats def Nyngan 2-1
The Men’s Gold Division final was played on Saturday evening when Engadine roared home in the pairs and singles to beat Raymond Terrace 2-1.
Cabramatta secured victory over Maitland City in the Women’s Gold Division. The Bull Ants skip converted in the Women’s triples with her first bowl, then drew a fourth shot with the last bowl of the match to claim a rink victory and a 2-1 match victory.
Taren Point recovered from a shaky start in the Mixed Gold Division, the singles and pairs finishing strongly to claim the title 2-1 after Port City registered a strong triples win.
Nyngan’s bid to claim a title for Far West was foiled in the final by Oak Flats. Nyngan claimed a solid win in the triples, but Oak Flats took the title courtesy of wins in the singles and pairs.
Cabra Vale Diggers showcased their building strength as a club, taking all three rinks to win the Men’s Silver Division to beat Wiseman Park Wollongong City.
The Men’s Blue Division was won by the narrowest of margins, Moorefield claiming wins in the both the pairs and triples on the final end of these clashes. With an unassailable lead, the singles game was ended with St Georges Basin in the lead to give Moorefield the champions medals 2-1.

The Club Challenge State Finals will return to Warilla Bowls in 2019.
