The Engadine Cougars fought back from an early deficit to storm home to claim the Men’s Gold Division Final over Raymond Terrace. The Jets had the early running in the Pairs and Triples and held a slender lead in the singles. The Jets trio of Jess Herbert, David Burgess and Haydn Bojkowski recorded a solid 14-6 win.
The Cougars pounced after the 9th end in the pairs. Chris Roberts and Mason Lewis scored counts of 1, 3 and 4 to lead 13-9. Tim Twinging and Jason Stokes scored a single on the penultimate end to rail by 3. At that time David Ferguson scored the winning shots to claim a hard fought 21-16 win over Eric Ryan, leaving the Jets pair of Tim Twining and Jason Stokes needing to score a treble to draw the pairs and force an extra end, the Cougars however kept them to a single to claim the Champions Medals with a 2-1 victory.
