ENTRY DEADLINE EXTENDED – Entries now close on Tuesday 9 October
We have been requested to give clubs one more weekend to confirm their players and get their sides entered … this request has been agreed with and entries now close on Tuesday 9 October.
Bowls NSW are excited to announce that entries are open for the 2018 Bowls NSW Club Challenge.
The Club Challenge is designed to give players an opportunity to pull on their club colours and battle against their neighbours in a friendly atmosphere. Whilst to many clubs and bowlers, Pennants is the ‘blue ribbon’ event of the year, the Club Challenge is designed to be a vibrant and healthy complementary competition. It not only gives those Pennant bowlers an additional opportunity, but also opens up club representation to others.
The Club Challenge comprises of sides containing a singles player, pairs team and a triples teams. Singles play 21 shots up, while pairs (3 bowls per player) and triples (2 bowls per player) will be both played over 14 ends. The side who wins two (or more) of the three contests (disciplines) is the match winner. The format has been very well received by competitors, with feedback about the competition being overwhelmingly positive.
All Sectional Play will be conducted on Saturday 17 November 2018. Sections of four sides will be drawn to play at a venue, each side to play the other three sides in their section. The best performed side will progress to the knockout stage.
Clubs may enter as many sides as they wish in the divisions being contested. There are three Men’s, two Women’s and two Mixed divisions. The Silver, Pink, Blue and Bronze divisions are restricted to players from lower Pennant grades, ensuring players have the opportunity to play against others of similar abilities.

- Women Gold – Unrestricted for Players Gradings
- Men Silver – Restricted to players from Grade 3 Pennants and below
- Women Pink – Restricted to players from Grade 3 Pennants and below
