The Keno NSW Blues got off to a cracking start in the 2018 Australian Sides Championship, with a solid win over the A.C.T. The Blues won all three rinks in a dominant display at Darwin Bowling Club, the host venue for the first match of the tournament. A positive start to the campaign is exactly what Coach Gary Willis would have wanted for the side, having already won a test series against the opposition earlier in the year.
NSW shot off to a comprehensive 27 – 5 lead after 14 ends. The early jump was capitalised upon and after 41 ends, the Blues lead 57 – 22. It wasn’t smooth sailing from there, as the A.C.T side continued to make things difficult at times across all three rinks. However, a comprehensive result ensued with the final score NSW 84 – ACT 39.
